My Restaurant Review Rankings – James Meléndez / Jaime Patricio Meléndez

My restaurant reviews should be viewed in terms of scale that does not follow a school grading but my ten-point (10.0) scale should not be compared to a school grade. My ten-point scale should be viewed as anything above a 9.0 is not just an “A” but anything between 9.0 and 10.0 is a logarithmic ranking. Each scale registration (9.0, 9.1, 9.2. …and each successive number is more difficult to obtain then the previous. I do view anything below 8.0 as an un-acceptable score; and also keep in mind that anything between 8.0 to 9.0 as not an inferior ranking; it goes from acceptable to good; and need it be said anything above 9.0 is exceptional.
I cannot detail what weights more; environment, style, cuisine, service, presentation, product quality, freshness, innovation, passion, etc. Restaurants are often apples and orange; rarely are they just comparing oranges to oranges. Just as there is an artistic quality in the art of restaurants so there is that with reviewing restaurants; the numerous working parts have to at some point be viewed in terms of artistry. There are so many inputs and outputs and they have an endless variation.
